Biodiversity Informatics & Herbarium Digitization Wu, Yihan [1], Colautti, Rob [2]. baRcodeR: a R package for reproducible sample collection and tracking. A key step for experimental reproducibility is the acquisition and management of data such as sample collection and tracking in the experimental process. However, open source tools are relatively undeveloped compared to software for data analysis reproducibility. We present the R package baRcodeR (https://github.com/ropensci/baRcodeR) for generating linear and 2D digital identifiers and barcodes in a reproducibile manner. Identifiers can be generated by code in simple sequences (SAMPLE-001, SAMPLE-002) or hierarchical manner with sample populations, subsamples, GPS coordinates or other data (PopA-Ind06-Tissue04). In addition to command line commands, a GUI add-in developed with shiny is available locally with the package install or online at https://bit.ly/baRcodeR. Log in to add this item to your schedule
