NOT your average specimen! Clark, Dina [1], Manzitto-Tripp, Erin [2]. The people who walked here, and the unusual plants they encountered: stories from the COLO Herbarium. With each passing year, the names of the collectors behind the discovery of some of our most interesting herbarium specimens become more obscure, yet these individuals, more often than not, are responsible not only for these botanical finds, but for the knowledge base of our regional and national floras. We will highlight several extraordinary botanists who traversed Colorado and elsewhere in the West, and some of their unusual botanical discoveries.
