Creating A Platform For Connecting Research Across Plant Families.

Increasing research impact in a 21st-century Open Science atmosphere drives effective and inclusive collaborative initiatives. Collaboration is essential to conduct relevant and quality research. In this global world where plants do not recognize political boundaries, researchers need to find ways to engage with current and potential colleagues across time zones and geographical space. The boom of technological tools has allowed overcoming these barriers and offers an opportunity to maximize collaborations and science communication. This workshop will start with an overview of creating networks through the use of virtual seminar series. The second half of the workshop will be split into five discussion groups which will cover social media, engaging speakers and DEI, implementing virtual seminars, collaborative publications, and coordinating consortia. Attendees will take home new collaboration skills, tips for starting an inclusive community, and engagement of multiple disciplines.
