Systematics Mortimer, Sebastian [1], Liston, Aaron [2]. Sex Ratio variation and the distribution of sex determining haplotypes of octoploid Fragaria in the PNW. Population level sex ratio variation in flowering plants depends on genetic and ecological contexts. Recent characterization of the sex determining region (SDR) of octoploid strawberries (Fragaria) allows for quantification of sex ratio and SDR haplotypes across species and habitats. As part of an examination of potential hybrid zones, we quantify sex ratio and SDR haplotypes among multiple populations and determine the extent of variation in two species of octoploid Fragaria and their putative hybrid in the Pacific Northwest.
