Phylogenomics Yocca, Alan [1]. Analysis of Global Vaccinium Species during an Undergraduate Course in Phylogenetics. Vaccinium is native to different parts of the world however, it is predominantly in North America, Asia, South America, and Europe. Different varieties of Vaccinium demonstrate different traits regarding fruit/ flower color & habit. We compared whole chloroplast genomes of over fifty global Vaccinium individuals to resolve their phylogenetic relationships, and used these relationships to investigate the evolution of several important Vaccinium traits. This work was performed collaboratively during an undergraduate course in phylogenetics. Log in to add this item to your schedule
