Floristics & Taxonomy Al-Qthanin, Rahmah Nasser [1]. A new record to the flora of Saudi Arabia: Blepharis attenuata Napper (Acanthaceae) Based on Morphological evidence. Abstract:The flora of Saudi Arabia is remote from complete particularly southern region due to inaccessibility and difficult terrain of region. Floristically, these plants are not well documented and additional work is needed to document the region’s extremely rich flora, and hence improve its conservation. During many floristic expeditions to Southern region of Saudi Arabia were conducted during 2020 and resulted in new record of national species. Morphological examination of Blepharis attenuata Napper was investigated in this study, and it recorded as new for the flora of Saudi Arabia. The flora composition around the plants was recorded. Significant range extensions are reported for this species. Our study highlights the importance of this species with its different habitats for plant conservation. Our data will help conservationists in determining areas highly valuable for conservation. Log in to add this item to your schedule
