Abstract Detail
Floristics & Taxonomy Goodwin, Dr Zoe A. [1], Sarkinen, Tiina [2], Harris, David J [2]. How can we train the next generation of botanists? To become a competent generalist in botany requires extensive experience both in the field and in the herbarium and in the floras of different biomes. Much of contemporary formal training opportunities (for example PhD and MSc thesis projects) lend themselves to taxonomic focused research but is there as much opportunity for early career botanists to gain extensive floristic experience? In this talk we discuss what types of opportunities are open to early career botanists that will help us train the next generation of botanists. Log in to add this item to your schedule
